Magnetic 3D Partners With Engadget To Deliver Glasses-Free 3D At NYC Reader Meetup
NEW YORK, NY - AUGUST 24, 2011
Magnetic 3D, the global leader in autostereoscopic, glasses-free 3D displays and digital signage solutions, today announced that it has partnered with Engadget, a multilingual technology blog network with obsessive daily coverage of gadgets and consumer electronics, to deliver a glasses-free 3D experience at their upcoming NYC Reader Meetup.
The free event is taking place on Thursday, August 25, from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM at Guastavino’s, one of New York City’s spectacular urban venues, located at 409 E. 59th Street. Engadget editors will be on the premises along with friends from the Joystiq and TUAW blogs, a host of gadgets, giveaways, and surprises. There is a 1,000 person limit and entry is on a first-come first-served basis so people are encouraged to arrive early as lines are expected.
In partnership with Engadget, Magnetic 3D has created stunning, glasses-free 3D visuals for the NYC Reader Meetup. Representative of Magnetic 3D’s brand identity offerings, this creative content will be shown in a continuous loop for the duration of the event on a 42” Allura Enabl3D™ autostereoscopic LCD display installed in the venue. Magnetic 3D’s proprietary Enabl3D™ technology provides audiences with a realistic visual experience that includes both captivating off-screen “pop” and the immersive perception of depth on what would otherwise be a flat display.
“We are big fans of Engadget and are absolutely thrilled they wanted to include our technology at the Meetup,” said Michael Dorin, VP of Business Development and Operations at Magnetic 3D. “Our innovative autostereoscopic displays have invisible optics built into them so viewers can see 3D content without needing any special eyewear. The technology is hard to believe without seeing it in person, which is exactly why we are so excited to share this experience firsthand with our fellow Engadget fans. I am confident that it will contribute to the event’s innovative vibe.”
