Magnetic 3D Releases New Software for the Creation and Playback of 3D Content

NEW YORK, NY - NOVEMBER 01, 2011

Magnetic 3D, the global leader in autostereoscopic “glasses-free” 3D displays and digital signage solutions, today announced the release of two new software packages as well as additional tools and plug-ins for the creation and playback of Enabl3D™ content on Magnetic 3D displays.

Mixture, the company’s 3D content creation and compositing software, is a professional tool that puts the ease of glasses-free 3D content development at the fingertips of any designer. The software includes real-time multi-stream video editing and compositing capabilities, native support for both 32-bit and 64-bit operating platforms, expanded input and output formats including H.264, improved key frame handling, streamlined workflow and layout, and support for external post-production programs such as NUKE and After Effects. Additionally, two enhanced Mixture plug-ins provide compatibility with both 3D Studio Max and Maya 2012 to harness the latest features of those programs including 300% faster rendering support. Magnetic 3D is offering all of these tools in a bundle called the “E3D Creative Suite 3.0”. The upgrade is available to owners of previous versions of Magnetic 3D’s content creation tools at an exclusive reduced price. A free 14-day trial of the new E3D Creative Suite can be obtained by contacting Magnetic 3D for instructions.

Magnetic 3D also has a new add-on tool for Mixture that provides content developers with the ability to convert content from stereo 3D to autostereoscopic 3D in the Company’s Enabl3D™ format. This extremely powerful tool is able to generate automatic depth estimation, view interpolation, and image rectification for virtually any available 3D format. Developers can use the tool to convert existing 3D media assets or choose to produce their own 3D videos for conversion to glasses-free 3D. Magnetic 3D only recommends this plug-in for advanced content creators who have significant experience in 3D.

Fuzion, the company’s versatile 3D player software for delivering glasses-free 3D content, includes support for the latest Magnetic 3D displays and backwards compatibility for legacy 2D content. New features include expanded drag-and-drop functionality and simplified integration tools with Active X control. Magnetic 3D is making the Fuzion update available for free to all its existing customers.

“We are thrilled to empower our clients and strategic content partners. These are the very best 3D creation tools we’ve ever released,” said Thomas Zerega, Founder and CEO of Magnetic 3D. “Continual development of our glasses-free 3D software and production capabilities is part of our relentless drive for innovation and is the foundation of our leadership position in the glasses-free 3D industry.”
